So lately, just before the spring season arrived, I visited Manali back in January. Perhaps I was extremely excited about visiting Manali when the hills wore a layer of thick white snow. However, it turned out to be one of the most memorable moments. A trip I will never forget and will remain close to my heart. Just like we all have seen in the movie “ye jawani hai dewani“. Along with my group of friends, I went for a 5-day trip in the beautiful valleys of Manali. I am so mesmerized by all the breath-take view Manali had to offer. The waterfall cascades down from around 150 feet through numerous levels. There is a small pool at the base form by the fall, and tourists. Can take a dip in the water and spend quality time. However, the water here was freezing due to the extreme cold weather. We also saw the Jogini Mata temple at the waterfall’s base. As it is a sacred site to the surrounding villages. The villagers bring their children for their first tonsure ritual here.
The next day we all gave the start by visiting the ancient temple Hadimba Devi stands by a dense cedar forest. Which is a surprise in the otherwise touristy Manali. The woods around Hadimba Devi Temple are incredibly thick, sunlight failing to connect with the ground at many places. The temple’s presiding god is the Forest Goddess or the Goddess of Nature. On a regular summer day, you will find crawling queues of enthusiasts in and around the temple complex. However, the temple had many restrictions for safety due to snow. The devotees from all over the country are a regular here, and local pray to the Goddess mostly in case of a natural calamity.
